Why use a medication organiser?

Organising doses in small, individual packs such as sachets or blister packs helps carers and patients remember to take medications.

A medication organiser assist in visually tracking medication, so you can clearly see when doses must be taken or if they have been missed.

Correctly taking your medication assists with:

  • Better health outcomes for patients especially seniors

  • Reduced chances of missed doses and/or incorrect doses

  • Decreased risk of health complications arising from administering doses at the wrong time

  • Making managing health of a loved one stress-free

  • Improved adherence with simplified packaging

Are you or a family member forgetting to take medication?

  • Difficulty in following instructions due to cognitive impairment

  • Lack of care providers or social support

  • High medication costs

  • Difficulty with packaging

  • Multiple prescribers

Managing medication at home

Here are some tips to simplify medication management at home‎

Understand suitability to diet

Some medications need to be taken with certain foods or must be avoided with particular food groups. It is best practice to understand how your diet can affect the effectiveness of your medications.‎

Missed doses

Remember to speak to your doctor about what must be done in the event of you or your loved one missing a dose. Some medicines have serious implications of missed or incorrect doses.‎

Medication packs

Speak to your local MediADVICE pharmacist about packing medicines in individual doses. This will eliminate difficulty in remembering medicine schedules for yourself and a loved one.‎

Establish a schedule

Set up a regular schedule for administering doses and stick to it. It is ideal to work it daily routine e.g. after the morning walk. It may be helpful to set an alarm to get started, until the routine has been formed.
